I am currently accepting adult and young adult fiction books for review. You can email me at email@example.com. You can also contact me on my Contact page, or through social media. You can find links to my profiles on my About page.
I accept print ARCs, finished copies, and e-books.
I am not accepting books from indie or self-published authors at this time. I do not accept audiobooks or interactive media books.
My acceptance of a review book depends on my interest in the book and how much time I have.
You can browse my Book Reviews page to get an idea of the books I enjoy. My favourite genres include:
- Most young adult genres, especially fantasy, science fiction, and contemporary
- Certain adult and young adult historical fiction
- General adult fiction
- Select non-fiction and memoirs/autobiographies/biographies
I will prioritise books featuring LGBTQ+, PoC, mentally ill, disabled, and otherwise marginalised protagonists.
Acceptance of a review copy does not mean I will finish or review the book, but I will try my best. I write reviews for most books that I finish.
Reviews are usually posted within a day of finishing the book, but I cannot say when I will get to a particular book. Reviews of books with a publishing date in the future will usually be scheduled in advance, while reviews of books that come out in the next 1-2 months or that have already come out may be posted after the book’s release.
You can explore my Book Reviews page to get an idea of how I write reviews. Most books will get a balanced review where I discuss pros and cons, plus my overall thoughts. Books that I feel particularly strongly about, whether I loved it or hated it, will usually just get an overall review without discussing pros and cons.
My reviews are fair and honest, but this does not guarantee that they will be positive. I aim to point out what I liked and disliked about the book, and I include a section on who I would recommend the book to. I never mention personal information or opinions about the author or about anyone involved in the creation or publication of the book.
The structure of the review is as follows:
- Cover art
- Title and author
- Series status
- Publication date and publisher
- Number of pages
- Rating (out of 5 stars; half-star increments)
- Who I would recommend the book to
- Goodreads and Book Depository links
- Synopsis (taken from Goodreads; I can include a synopsis that you send to me if you prefer)
- My thoughts
- Pros and cons (optional)
I am happy to post my review to additional sites at your request, including Amazon.co.uk and publisher’s websites.
Most of my reviews, or segments of reviews, are posted to Goodreads. My blog posts are automatically shared to my Tumblr page and to Twitter. You can find links to my profiles on my About page.
I am happy to host giveaways, cover releases, and guest posts/interviews. I would prefer a copy of the book involved in any of these cases to get a feel for how it will fit with the theme of my blog, but it is not a requirement.
Most importantly, thank you for considering me to review your book! I would be honoured to receive your request and I’m looking forward to working with you.
